Comments: The "Space
Patrol" drink shaker was made by the "United Plastic Corp."
of Fitchburg, Mass. around 1950. It was designed in the form of a
futuristic spaceship in bright pink clear brittle plastic and was
embossed with the wording "XY 7 ROCKET". The box is very
nicely illustrated with a similar looking working spacecraft on two
of the panels and a boy and a girl using the shaker on the other
two.
The box proclaims "A new thrill for children at mealtimes or
daytime snacks", "Swell for milkshakes, juices,
cocktails...all mixed drinks", "Encourages drinking milk and
fruit juices" and "A novel drink mixer for adults".
"Cocktails" and "Space Travel" were two very popular
