| Comments: This bright and
colourful savings bank was made by "Chad Valley" around 1955
and called "Clock Money Box". It was produced to promote the
"The Robin" childrens' weekly comic, whose first edition was
printed on 28th March 1953 and the last copy was 25th January 1969
in Britain. The tin is in the form of a mantle clock and is
decorated with various characters featured in the comic, which
include a Siamese cat and a golliwog. The clock face has hands which
move and it lifts off, like the round lid of a tin. The back of the
tin says "Chad Valley. Made in England. By permission Robin
Hulton Press Ltd". To view other images
