| Comments: This very early
printed biscuit tin was manufactured by "Huntley, Boorne &
Stevens" around the 1870's and is marked "B & Ms Pat.". "Huntley
and Palmer" was the only company allowed to print tin legally
using the "Bryant and May" process, from 1877 to 1889. The tin is
printed in gold, silver and black, and has a small padlock as part
of the pattern on the front of the tin. The design on the lid
incorporates the Royal cipher, decorated with groups of lilies. The
intertwined initials of the company, "H & P" form a
decorative device on
