Comments: This unusual "Peek
Frean" biscuit tin was made by the Australian branch of the
London company in Sydney by "S.T. Leigh & Co. Pty Ltd" around
1935.
The instructions on the tin say "Spin the inner container
(where the biscuits were originally housed) by means of the
projecting spindle and the horse stopping in front of the post is
"The Winner'. The odds are indicated in the squares below the
horse.". it was obviously designed by a real gambler!
This biscuit tin is a tin within a tin, there are seven runners with
odds varying from evens to 17/1, which makes for an
interesting horse racing game.
