| Comments: This
impressively constructed biscuit tin, from 1890, is one of the
earliest examples illustrating sport. It shows golf, cycling,
fishing, tennis and polo and is titled "Polo"; a more likely title
might have been "Golf"! A tin like this, may have had routinely up
to twelve printings, along with several layers of varnish and
lacquer to give such great a rich depth of colour and intensity. It
is in good condition with a few minor scuffs and marks. It is marked
"Bryant and May patent".
