Comments:  The tale of "Little Red Riding Hood", "Chaperon Rouge" or "Rotkäppchen" was retold by the Brothers Grimm in the 19th century and their final version of this well known story was completed in 1857. The basic tale of morality seems to have it's origins in most European countries prior to the 17th century, it contrasts the safety of village life over the perils of being in the forest. However, the modern interpretations of this fairy tale are as a parable of "sexual awakening" or as a "warning against the dangers of prostitution"!
The tin tells the story of "Chaperon Rouge" on it's five panels with highly detailed and colourful illustrations, along with a French script. The tin is in nice condition, has a hinged lid and is bright and shiny.
