Comments: This biscuit sample
tin features a picture of "Kenilworth castle" in
Warwickshire painted by "John Syer RI".
There have been fortifications on this site since Saxon times and
the current ruins are of Norman origins about 1125 with various
additions and alterations over the following centuries. It was the
site of a famous siege in 1266 and it was stormed by troops in 1656
during the English Civil War. Legend has it that Elizabeth I gave
birth to an illegitimate baby during her month stay here in 1575,
during which time she also tasted the first potato brought into
