"Mackintosh" tin comes in at least three sizes, of which this is the
largest, and it was made around 1925. The tin is based on the old
fashioned beehives that were made of braided straw, and the design
features over 20 honey bees; Apis Mellifera. The
English company was founded in Halifax, Yorkshire in 1890 and John
Mackintosh won his first medal for his toffee in 1895.
