| Comments: "Stollwerck"
is the famous German chocolate company based in Cologne, founded by
Franz Stollwerck in 1839. They started producing chocolate in the
1860's and they opened a factory in London in 1902. These small banks
were manufactured by the company around 1910 and resembles the type
of older wooden properties that you still find in areas such as the
Black Forest. These absolutely delightful tins are highly detailed,
with such items as milk churns, buckets, an axe and even the
hunter's rifle clearly visible; if you have good eyes! They are in
good condition and the pictures clearly show any minor defects
commensurate with the age of the tins. The tins each have a simple lock but no
key. The left bank was made for the English speaking market,
the middle one for the German speaking market and the other one was
left blank. A rare chance to see three
versions of this bank!
