Bird" perfected his custard powder by the 1840's and started
advertising it around 1875. He produced the yeast based powder in
response to his wife's allergy to eggs; as she was very partial to
egg custard! This is a small sample tin with it's paper wrap around
label still sealed and intact, it is rare and this one is even more
unusual as it is from South Africa.
