Comments: The
"Franco-Prussian War" 1870-71 was provoked
by "Otto von Bismarck" as part of his
plan to create a unified Germany. The
conflict between Germany and France, marked
the beginning of the rise of German military
power and imperialism in Europe. Bismarck
encouraged the growing rift between Prussia
and France, to try and bring the Southern
states of Germany into a national union.
This all relied on Britain, Russia and Italy
remaining neutral. The souvenir lists the
events of the war in 1870, shows the Chiefs
of the French Army and those of the German
Army. It is in very good condition with some
light staining, the pictures don't do it
justice as it is nearly a 140 years old!
