Comments:  This pass is in mint condition, is printed on thin paper and has the appearance of a bank note type engraving. It was thought that an official looking document would be taken more seriously by the German soldiers and thus be more effective! The red side is printed in German and English, the reverse is in German and French. The "ZG76" had a print run of 10,000,000 and the Allies dropped 8,740,000 from November 1944 to February 1945.
The pass is signed by Dwight Eisenhower, Supreme Commander, Allied Expeditionary Force. In January 1944 he resumed command of European Theatre of Operations (ETOUSA). In February 1944 he was officially designated as the Supreme Allied Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Force (SHAEF).  He was in charge of the planning and the carrying out of the assault on Normandy, code named "Operation Overlord" in June 1944 to liberate Europe.
