Comments: This mug was
produced to celebrate the coronation of "King Edward VII" on June 26th
1902. The underneath is marked "Baynes & Co. Wakefield".
It is a pretty mug and it is in good condition with a little wear on
the gold paint on the rim.
"Edward VII" had many mistresses throughout his marriage
with "Alexandra", she was aware of activities and she quietly
put up with them. He had discreet friendships with "Lillie
Langtry", "Sarah Bernhardt", "Daisy Grenville",
"Agnes Keyser", "Lady Randolph Churchill"( Winston's
mother), "Countess of Warwick" and "Alice Keppel".
"Alice Keppel" was his last mistress and was even present at
his bedside before his death at "Buckingham Palace".
"Camilla Parker Bowles"; the present wife of "Prince Charles",
is her great granddaughter and it was rumoured that her grandmother
was "Edward VII's" illegitimate daughter!
