Comments: This well known
brand of English cigarettes produced by "Will's' was first
launched in 1878.
The company was founded in 1786 in Bristol, England and it became
"W.D. & H.O. Wills'" in 1830. Their first cigarette brand was
"Bristol" introduced in 1871, "Three Castles" in 1878,
"Woodbine" 1888 and "Embassy" in 1914.
This rare early heavy metal tray was manufactured in England around
1925. It was printed to resemble a mahogany wooden tray and the
colours are still very bright and vibrant, particularly the gold. It
is interesting as it shows all the different sizes of packets and
tins that these cigarettes were available in. The tray carries the
"ITC" number 3055 which equates to 1922.
