| Comments: This early French
cardboard sign advertises grape juice and dates from 1910. It is
brightly coloured, very nicely detailed and is in good condition. It
shows a French provincial town with a busy vineyard in the
foreground where the locals are actively harvesting the grapes into baskets,
which then go on to be
pressed and processed to produce grape juice. Overlooking the whole
scene is a classically dressed woman drinking the juice and admiring
a bunch of the red grapes, while seven winged cherubs play below
while sampling the drink. The juice was bottled before fermentation
(non alcoholic) and sold at 1.50 to 2.50 Francs a bottle. To view other images
